CRTC New Media Hearings

OK, so three postings in a day, one of the reasons I'm posting this is
because I'm setting it up from another computer specifically on my
Netbook.

I hear there are cease and desist letters going out regarding this, and
much to my dismay I don't have time to make a pointed response about how
idiotic this is.

My other point for Monday morning regarding the CRTC New Media hearings
is how can the Canadian Content lobby logically make this argument?

The Internet is not like Television, you can't tell a site it can't
"broadcast" in Canada.

The only way this would be possible would be through wholesale
censorship which would then be defeated very easily.

So suffice it to say, this is another cash grab by the content
providers.

Don't buy into Canada.

Review of the Acer Aspire One

This is a quick review of the Acer Aspire One Netbook.

First off, let me say that it is far superior to the Asus Eee PC, the
Netbook comes with a dual processor out of the box, and performs like an
average full-blown machine.

Out of the box my Netbook had a Dual 1.6 GHZ, 1.5 GB of Ram and a 160 GB
hard drive.

I installed Ubuntu 8.10, and I was in business in a matter of Minutes.
Only required mods were the fan mod.. and the Wifi mod listed here:

Install, mod and ready in 15 Minutes, so far my favourite laptop.
