A few days ago I decided I was going to install Debian PPC on my G4.
So far so good, it's been performing with a grace and stability little seen in the PPC linux world.
I have been very satisfied with Ubuntu on the x86 architecture but it's the pitts on PPC machines and sadly [Ubuntu] is no longer under devellopment for PPC.
I've been adding to it slowly and it took a little while to set up... the xorg config files originally set my monitor up as a CRT monitor when it was in fact an LCD. However once I got over that hurdle it seemed fine.
Now I have a stable, if somewhat vanilla system... more updates to come on this.
